Marie was born and raised in northern California. She calls the Sierra foothills, Yuba River, and big cedars home.

Since 2020, Marie has been dedicated to seeking belonging, support, and reciprocity with her spirit allies through the traditions of the Dagara people. This tradition spans thousands of years in Dano, Burkina Faso (west Africa). It is a wild and potent technology for balancing and creating deep partnerships between the physical and the subtle realms. Marie was merged (initiated) as a wedeme stick diviner in 2021 and as a kontomble voice diviner in 2025 with the blessings of the House of Bakhyè. She is also trained as a Family Constellations facilitator.

Marie also leverages over 10 years of experience in affordable housing development and other community-based work to bring spiritual healing and resilience to our natural and built environments.
